SEO OPTIMIZATION

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is something that is becoming very important in the ever expanding realm of cyber space. It can also seem quite confusing as it involves several stages, strategies and techniques. However, if you do things step by step and take time in the beginning, you end up with a solid foundation that is easy to stay on top of.

SEO is never really “done”, it’s a constant “watch and tweak” type of thing to make sure you’re being seen by potential customers, making sure Google notices you and using the tools available track your current ranking and conversion rates.

SOME BASIC SEO STEPS:

  • Market Research
  • Keyword Research
  • Site Structure
  • On Page Optimization
  • Link Building
  • Brand Building
  • Measuring Results
  • Keeping up to date

SEO is also something that ideally should happen before actually building a website. The first three steps mentioned above will have a huge effect on what the website looks like and what content is included. It’s not to say that you can’t do SEO work on an existing website, it just means going back to the beginning and really focusing on who you’re trying to attract and then coming up with keywords and keyphrases, then translating all that into your website’s copy in order for Google to give you a higher search rank.

I can’t claim to be an SEO master, but if SEO is something you would like to be included in a website design or worked into an existing website, I can take what I know and apply it. Please note that the first two steps actually require some time spent talking and brainstorming.

My knowledge comes from an online SEO Training Class I took through the JM Internet Group by Dr. Jason McDonald out of San Fransisco. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking to get an understanding of anything SEO/Social Media Marketing/Adwords related.
